Crestron Automation - Lake Oconee, Ga.

This house has been recognized by Crestron’s website. It falls under their “Inside Stories (Case Studies) - Residential” webpage. Inside Stories demonstrates Crestron solutions applied in both unusual and familiar settings. This Crestron system is also a home automation system. With the touch of one button this client has the ability to choose desired audio/video source in any room, control all audio/video aspects with a touch panel or remote, and change lighting scenes with a touch panel or remote. Entertainment Technology has programmed Crestron to control all of the thermostats, turn on the security system, set the sprinkler system to auto mode (so the landscaping will be watered when the soil is dry) and have the drapes close automatically when the sun reaches a certain intensity. Crestron is controlling all of the lighting (interior & exterior) and acting as a Intercom System. Entertainment Technology designed this system so that it is extremely flexible and upgradeable.

The major “visible” audio/video components this whole house system includes are: (4) Crestron hand held remotes, (2) Crestron color hand held touch panels, (2) 10″ Crestron color touch panels, (3) Crestron color in-wall touch screens, (2) HD projectors, (1) 42″ HD Pioneer plasma, (2) 50″ HD Pioneer plasmas, (1) 15″ HD Sharp Aquos LCD, and (1) 32″ HD Syntax Olevia LCD. Entertainment Technology engraved the “hard” buttons on all touch panels for easy operation.

Below is a breakdown of all rooms that Entertainment Technology automated and wired including all A/V components installed in those rooms. The client and interior designer had specific criteria which will be discussed in a room to room basis.

2nd Floor - Bedrooms 2, 3, and 4: Telephone & Network Prewire, and a Multimedia Prewire.

Apartment: Telephone & Network Prewire, and a Multimedia Prewire. Installation of client’s LG 20″ LCD TV.

Basement - Bar: Telephone & Network Prewire.

Basement - Covered Porch: Audio Cat Prewire, In-Ceiling Speaker Prewire, (2) Boston Acoustics 6 ½ ” In-Ceiling Speakers, and a Niles Volume Control. This area’s “whole house audio sources” are chosen from the touch panel in the Kitchen.

Basement - Media Room: Home Theater 7 Prewire, (2) Powered Subwoofer Prewires, and (2) Cresnet Prewires. B&W Centre Channel Speaker, (2) Boston Acoustics 8″ Stereo In-Ceiling Speakers, Dwin Transvision 4 HD/DLP Projector, (2) James Loudspeakers 15″ Subwoofers, Marantz SR8001 A/V Receiver, client’s DVD player, and a Screen Research 103″ 16×9 Projection Screen. This system is being controlled by a Crestron MT-1000C Hand Held Color Touch Panel.

Basement - Rear Patio: Crescat Prewire, Audio-Cat Prewire, Outdoor Speaker Prewire, (2) Boston Acoustics 2-Way High Performance Outdoor Loudspeakers, Draper Cineflex Rear Projection 65″ HD Ceiling-Recessed Motorized Screen, and a Epson Power Light Procinema 810 Projector. This system is being controlled by a Crestron ML-600 Hand Held Remote.

Basement - Sitting Room/Den: Cresnet Prewire, Crescat Prewire, Audio-Cat Prewire, In-Ceiling Speaker Prewire, and a Television Prewire. Components include (2) Boston Acoustics 8″ Stereo In-Ceiling Speakers, and the client’s Fujitsu 50″ Plasma with a Strong tilting wall mount. This system is being controlled by a Crestron ML-600 Hand Held Remote and a Crestron 4.3” Color In-Wall Touch Screen.

Basement - Swimming Pool/Jacuzzi: Audio-Cat Prewire, Outdoor Speaker Prewire, Cresnet Prewire, Crescat Prewire, (2) Niles 8″ 2-Way 200W Sandstone Rock Speakers, and a SunbriteTV outdoor super-bright 32″ LCD TV. This system is being controlled by the client’s ML-600 Hand Held Remote.

Main Floor - Dining Room: Audio Cat Prewire, In-Ceiling Speaker Prewire, (2) Boston Acoustics 6 ½ ” In-Ceiling Speakers, and a Niles Volume Control. This area’s “whole house audio sources” are chosen from the touch panel in the Kitchen.

Main Floor - Front Porch: Audio Cat Prewire, Single Stereo Speaker Prewire, Boston Acoustics 6″ Stereo In-Ceiling Speaker, and a Niles Volume Control. This area’s “whole house audio sources” are chosen from the touch panel in the Kitchen.

Main Floor - Great Room: Audio Cat Prewire, In-Wall Speaker Prewire, Crescat Prewire, (2) Boston Acoustics 8″ 2-way In-Wall Speakers, and a Fujitsu 50″ 720P Plasma HDTV mounted by a Peerless Single Articulating Wall Arm. This system is being controlled by a Crestron ML-600 Hand Held Remote.

Main Floor - Kitchen: Audio Cat Prewire, In-Ceiling Speaker Prewire, Cresnet Prewire, (2) Boston Acoustics 8″ 2-way In-Ceiling Speakers, and a Chief Under-Cabinet Mount that will support client’s LCD TV. This system is being controlled by a Crestron 4.3” Color In-Wall Touch Screen.

Main Floor - Master Bathroom: Audio Cat Prewire, In-Ceiling Speaker Prewire, Cresnet Prewire, Crescat Prewire, (2) Boston Acoustics 6.5″ 2-way In-Ceiling Speakers, and a Chief LCD tilt wall mount that will support a Sony 26″ LCD 720P HDTV. This system is being controlled by a Crestron 4.3” Color In-Wall Touch Screen.

Main Floor - Master Bedroom: Audio Cat Prewire, In-Ceiling Speaker Prewire, Telephone & Network Prewire, Crescat Prewire, High Definition Component Audio/Video Prewire, (2) Boston Acoustics 8″ 2-way In-Ceiling Speakers, and a Chief Flat Panel Display Electric Ceiling Lift that will support a Pioneer 42″ Pure Vision Plasma HDTV. This system is being controlled by a Crestron MT-1000C Hand Held Color Touch Panel.

Main Floor - Study: Audio Cat Prewire, Telephone & Network Prewire, Crescat Prewire, In-Ceiling Speaker Prewire, (2) Boston Acoustics 6.5″ 2-way In-Ceiling Speakers, and client’s LG 20″ LCD TV mounted with client’s existing swing arm wall mount. This system is being controlled by a Crestron ML-600 Hand Held Remote.

Equipment A - Communications Area: Attic to Basement conduit Prewire, Satellite TV Prewire, Service Entrance Drop Prewire, and a USTEC rough-in cabinet with USTEC phone/cable distribution box.

Equipment C - Entertainment: The head end includes (2) AVRAK 48″ Component Racks (7 Shelves), (3) Crestron Adagio Audio Expanders, Crestron AV2 Dual Bus Control System, Crestron CNX-PVID8×4 Video Distribution Switcher, Escient Digital Music Server, Furman IT-Reference 15 Power Conditioner, (2) Furman SB1000 Uninterruptible Power Supplies, and a Polk XRT12 XM Reference Home Tuner.
